New “I’m a Boy” Book for 5-7 Year Old Boys

July 7, 2020 by Dr. Shelley Metten Leave a Comment

If you have been following my blogs, you know that I encourage parents of boys to begin teaching them about their body as early as possible.

During potty training, parents are much more willing to use accurate terms to describe the important anatomy, and I think that’s great. But, I’m not sure what happens after that. It seems that by about 5-7 years old, interesting terms replace the real ones, and there is a need to get back to the basics.

I want to help by offering a book I have written for boys in the 5-7 year old age group. It is available to help parents as they navigate the early steps toward preparing their son for puberty. The name of my book is I’m a Boy, Special Me. I was selling a previous version of this book on Amazon and when it sold out, I took advantage of that transition to change the art and some of the content. Here is what the new book cover looks like. It is now available on Amazon and you can review it on Kindle.

I hope you and your son will enjoy exploring the interesting content of my new book. Always remember to make these times fun so they will look forward to them in the months and days ahead.
